Vulcanfibre abrasive discs are one of the most widely used types of abrasives with high resistance to mechanical stress. They are designed for use in hand-held angle grinders with a plastic backing plate. Grinding wheels are available in versions for grinding common steel, alloy and stainless steel, aluminium, non-ferrous metals, cast iron and other materials.

Compared to other types of angle grinder products for roughing welds, such as grinding flexo and flap discs, vulcanized fibre discs have the fastest material removal per unit time.
